Women-only Canoe Skills Sessions

For many reasons, a disproportionate number of women never paddle in the stern (back) of a canoe, solo paddle, or portage a canoe. Maybe they feel they don't have the strength, skill, or confidence.

For safety, it is important that EVERYONE who paddles learn how to stern a canoe and learn independent paddle skills. Just as importantly, women deserve the confidence of being able to paddle, load, carry, and navigate without needing to depend on anyone else.

Join our women-only paddling sessions for skills practice at your current level in a safe, inclusive, and judgment-free space. In small groups, we will work to address gaps in your skills and create a community of independent paddlers who are ready to take on the next paddling adventure - whether it's a solo paddle at the cottage or eventually a ladies' backcountry canoe trip.

Paddle Your Own Canoe is meant for paddlers with some experience. Specific skills covered will depend on the level(s) of paddlers. (Brand-new paddlers should register for a Safe Canoeing or Level 1 course.)

Each skill session is ~ 3 hours in length, including a skills assessment. Group sizes are small (maximum of 6 paddlers). *Private sessions can be arranged with advance notice for 4-6 paddlers.

Price is $60 per paddler.
